On developing ideas and gathering inspiration from other trailers of horror films, I realised that Jack the Ripper could be such a good idea for a film. A serial TV version was shown early this year. I still like my original idea of the protagonist being in the bath and the phone ringing at some point and may integrate them both.
Jack the Ripper is an old Victorian London murder mystery of the known killings of 5 women (all prostitutes). On one case, there was writing in white chalk on the wall (or, in some accounts, the door jamb) above where an apron was found. Long reported that it read, 'The Juwes are the men that will not be blamed for nothing.' This gave me inspiration for perhaps there being blood on the wall for a credit of the director or something similar. I've seen such an idea in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets:
I then carried on thinking about what other effects I could use to create an scary and unnerving atmosphere before the killer has been introduced. I thought of perhaps when she is running a bath, blood coming out of the tap for some moments but her not noticing it. Having the audience see this effect and not the girl will provoke panic and fear within them. I've looked on google and managed to find an image of something like I have in mind!
I also had the idea of a shadow flicking past as a reflection in the mirror just as she looks down to pick something up. She could be getting ready like at the beginning of that scene from Mirrors that I analysed recently.
At the moment, this is all I have thought of for new ideas.
