Brief think about lighting

So I am going to briefly think about the lighting in each shot and have a look at what message this will give to the audience. For example, dark lighting will give a scary and unknown atmosphere.

  1. A typical indoor synthetic lighting. A natural indoor atmosphere, relaxed. The artificial lighting suggests that it is the evening.
  2. This is just a shot of a web page and so the lighting in the room may need to be darkened so that the screen can be seen on film.
  3. Same as above.
  4. (Time Warner Logo) This will be edited in.
  5. A warm lit yet rather dark room. This will allow the candles to make a difference.
  6. Same as above.
  7. Light in foreground, dark through the door where the shadow will appear.
  8. Same as above.
  9. (Paramount Pictures logo)
  10. Rather dark until the candle is lit. There is then a warm glow.
  11. Flickery from the candles.
  12. Same as above.
  13. Darker as it is from behind the phone looking towards the back of the girl. The light from the phone will show up well though.
  14. Flickery glow.
  15. Same as above.
  16. Reflection of candlelight against her pale skin.
  17. Darker but still with the reflections of the candles on the tap. The water will be glistening and red.
  18. Dark hallway with flickery light of candles in the room.
  19. Darker as he gets closer as if the darkness is closing in on her. He is enveloping her with fear and horror.
  20. Same as above. but getting even darker.
  21. From warm glow of the candle to the cold, dark, black shot. The warmth has been taken out of her and her life. Death has arrived.
  22. With above.
  23. Black and white colours? Perhaps a sort of flashback?
  24. Dark lighting with a faint outline of a dark figure in the distance following her. The moonlight is supposed to be the only light but of course other filming lights will have to be used so that features are distinguishable.
  25. Fairly dark but still rather light. The red blood will stand out.
  26. A light in the background to make silhouettes of figures and props. No features of people will be seen.
  27. Same as above.
  28. Twilight type light. Writing will be distinguisable.
  29. Light face, dark background.
  30. Dark room.
  31. Light as it is a close-up.
  32. Dark outside with light of lampposts. Light in the house.
  33. (Title)
  34. Dark background with glistening knife and blood.
