for Media. This will be a teaser trailer for a big screen film. It will influence peoples views on horror films and staying at home alone.

for Ideology. An ideology is a world view, a system of values, attitudes and beliefs which an individual, group or society holds to be true or important; these are shared by a culture or society about how that society should function. The Misogynist shows the dominance of men in society, even in this day and age. It is not common for men to hate women and so this goes against common social views. Murder should not be part of a society and murdering should not be part of how the world functions. This film is therefore challenging the ideology of society.

for Genre. This is horror/thriller. It is a mass murder of women, Jack the Ripper style. He hates women and this is a film style that is not common. I feel this genre may catch the thriller loving audience for the new sub-genre.

for Representation. Media representations are the ways in which the media portrays particular groups, communities, experiences, ideas, or topics from a particular ideological or value perspective. Rather than examining media representations as simply reflecting or mirroring reality we examine how media representations serve to represent or to actually create a new reality. The reality here is that a man hates women and he is commiting the act of misogyny. For his personal opinion and hate, he is commiting murder which is terrifying for any women in the locality.

for Audience. My audience shall be aimed at young adults to adults. The target genre audience shall be for people who love horror/thriller films, perhaps with a bit of gore and with a love of suspense.

for Institution. I need to consider who will be producing my film (film trailer). For example, Twisted Pictures (below) is associated with the Saw films.

for Narrative. A narrative in its most basic sense is a series of events, but in order to construct meaning from the narrative those events must be linked somehow. The narrative of my project will be in condensed trailer form to give the audience an idea of the story quickly and so that it is memorable.
